Tall Poppy Croissanterie NYC
A World of Bake Believe
Tall Poppy [noun] A person who is conspicuously successful.
It all started when two Aussie lawyers-turned-hobbyist-bakers, chasing a buttery daydream in Brooklyn, slid into our inbox with nothing but a name, a rolling pin, and a bold idea for a croissanterie. Naturally, we kneaded this — and we were in, hook, line, and lamington.
Tall Poppy is NYC’s hottest new takeaway eatery, serving up golden, flaky pastries baked fresh daily down under (in their basement, that is). Their goodies regularly sell out, so yes, they’re living up to the name.
When the founders came to us, we knew this brand had to rise like the perfect pastry: bold, confident, and unapologetically butterful.
Our response was a warm, nostalgic, unmistakably Australian colour palette and a logotype that’s tall, proud, and no crumbs. A condensed wordmark, topped off with a cheeky ‘Y’ that blossoms into a poppy. The flower icon moonlights as the brand’s signature stamp, blooming across packaging, merch, and a deliciously layered visual ecosystem.
And we didn’t stop at the visuals. We led creative direction for the space itself, blending original exposed brick and hardwood timber with a custom-tiled counter bursting with poppy detail. A tactile tribute to a world of bake believe. It’s like a little piece of home, if home smelled like croissants.
So, if you’re in NYC, do yourself a flavour and drop by Tall Poppy.
